Customized dashboard

Download document

Objective

Implementation of a customized dashboard, perfectly matching the customer's needs, to ensure an easier analysis of the results of the measures realized on the source code of the application portfolio.

This dashboard federates the results of measures issued from different standard tools (CheckStyle, Ada Control, IBM Rational Logiscope…)

Benefits

The dashboard automates the phase dedicated to understanding and gathering of all information produced by code analysis tools used in a project. In concrete terms, the last customer for whom Kalimetrix implemented a dashboard was able to reduce time dedicated to code reviews from 3 weeks to 1 hour.

Languages

C, C++, Ada and Java

Material

Implementation of the dashboard in customer's environment.

Automation of code verification

Download document

Objective

Integration of automatized verification in the development environment using a set of programming rules.

Justification

To make team work easier, to smooth code transmission between developers, to reduce defects in coding, programming rules are necessary. The automation of their verification, and its integration in the development environment will ensure they are respected at best.

Languages

C, C++, ADA and Java

Service description

Phase 1: critical analysis of existing programming rules
Phase 2: identification of a set of rules to be automated
Phase 3: development of verification scripts
Phase 4: integration of the scripts in user's development environment
Phase 5: programming manual production

Tools

IBM Rational Logiscope RuleChecker, Checkstyle, AdaControl …

Material

•    Verification scripts integrated in the development environment

•    Programming manual

Requirement traceability automation

 Download document

Objective

To provide a tool-based link between software requirements and their source code implementations, in order to obtain an efficient verification of completeness.

Benefits

Manual code reviews are fastidious and costly: they can be replaced by a tool producing a synthetic report containing all traceability information between requirements and source code.

Languages

Ada, C, C++ and Java

Controls

Based on project practices (comment format, numbering rules...), the tool verifies that the source code is compliant with the requirements entered.

Material

Two options:
•    Kalimetrix is in charge of the analysis: in this case, Kalimetrix delivers the traceability report associated to the source code and the requirements produced by the customer.
•    Kalimetrix is in charge of tool implementation at the customer's site: in this case, the customer will be able to generate as many traceability reports as he wants.
